International admissions

Piri Reis University runs a dedicated international admissions site. Eligibility follows the Turkish 'student from abroad' rules: foreign nationals who did not complete their entire high school in Türkiye, Blue Card holders, later-naturalised and dual nationals who did not study at high school in Türkiye or the TRNC, Turkish citizens who completed all of high school abroad including at MEB-affiliated Turkish schools abroad, and TRNC nationals holding GCE A-Level or TR-YÖS. The published route has five steps: apply online through the university's portal with document uploads, evaluation by the International Office against the applicant's exam result or high school GPA, issue of a YÖKSİS acceptance letter with an ID number, obtaining the student visa at a Turkish mission, then in-person registration with original documents, the Denklik equivalency certificate and the payment receipt, followed by a residence permit application after arrival.

  • Eligible: foreign nationals who did not complete all of high school in Türkiye; Blue Card holders; later-naturalised and dual nationals who did not study or graduate at high school in Türkiye/TRNC; Turkish citizens who completed all of high school abroad (excluding the TRNC), including MEB-affiliated Turkish schools abroad; TRNC nationals with GCE A-Level or TR-YÖS
  • Not eligible: Turkish citizens who finished high school in Türkiye or the TRNC; TRNC or dual nationals from Turkish-curriculum high schools in Türkiye/TRNC; dual nationals whose first nationality is Turkish by birth unless all of high school was completed abroad; Turkish or dual nationals at foreign high schools inside Türkiye; foreign nationals who studied or graduated at high schools in Türkiye/TRNC
  • YÖK exceptions noted: students of embassy schools, MOBİS-listed international private schools and students brought under a MEB/YÖK project may be eligible even if located in Türkiye
  • Accepted exams with published minimums include TR-YÖS 250/500, IB 24/45, SAT 400/1600, ACT 16/36, GCE A-Level AAA, GCE CCC, Abitur 4 (scale 4-1), Tawjihi 50/100, Matura 4, Maturita 40/100, ORT 120/250, WASSCE/WAEC/NECO F8, and several country-specific diplomas
  • Associate and bachelor application uploads: high school diploma, high school transcript, passport ID page photocopy, photo, and an internationally valid English proficiency certificate if available
  • Registration-stage documents: English or Turkish translation of the original high school diploma, Equivalency Certificate (Denklik Belgesi), notarised or mission-approved translation of the transcript and of the exam result, passport ID page photocopy, bank receipt for the tuition payment, Student Visa (Öğrenim Vizesi) except for visa-exempt applicants, mission-approved original language certificate if available, and 10 passport photos
  • Admitted students receive a YÖKSİS acceptance letter with an ID number; mid-term applicants may receive a pre-acceptance letter subject to YÖK's one-third-of-prior-quota limit
  • The tuition page states an automatic GPA-based entry scholarship of 25% (GPA 65-80%) or 50% (GPA at or above 80%)
  • Where the English Preparatory School is required, its fee equals the tuition of the chosen programme
